The global leader in augmented identity, Idemia, was selected by Movistar in Chile to be part of an unseen service in South America, the creation of a digital identity mobile KYC (Know Your Customer) and solutions for paperless contracts on mobile stores services.
The announcement took place on April 2019.
The Telefónica’s subsidiary in Chile, Movistar, made a great move towards Idemia, when awarding the company a contract to provide an end-to-end KYC service. The solution has the purpose to assist in-store sales people while signing new customers, both facial and digital signature will be involved. Customers in Chile will have the possibility to sign new contract electronically:
The service is basically provided by a mobile app for tablets and smartphones in which sales people from Telefónica will match the ID document with customer photos stored in a biometric database. This procedure generates though a digital identity for the customer.
The relation between the two companies started years ago, when Idemia had provided Telefónica with SIMs, over-the-air and M2M eSIM Global Subscription management platform. This new contract endorses the ongoing trust of Telefónica in Idemia.
In a long term bases, digital identity will bring a safe and secure world where shoppers will be able to do self enrollment at home in order to carry out their daily taks.
