Contactless bank cards: IDEMIA joins the Japanese market
More good news from IDEMIA, the world leader in augmented identity ! The group recently announced that it is entering the Japanese bank card market. It will thus provide Japanese financial institutions (issuers, Fintech) with dual bank cards compliant with the JIS2 standard.
Bank cards adapted to the changing needs of consumers
IDEMIA is constantly improving the security of its contactless bank cards and wishes to extend its range to financial institutions around the world. For example, it is developing a range of eco-responsible cards and services called “GREENPAY”.
To meet growing market demand, IDEMIA is expanding its offer in Japan. It has already provided its contactless cards to large issuers like Toyota Finance Corporation or FinTechs like UPSIDER. These cards are certified by Visa, JCB and many other networks.
What are the advantages for financial institutions?
Several services related to IDEMIA contactless cards can be used by Japanese financial institutions such as:
- Smart PIN which allows a user to obtain the PIN code of his card in a dematerialized manner.
- Smart Instant Issuance which allows a user to have their card immediately delivered to an agency or point of sale closest to them.
- For individuals, there is IDEMIA Connect, which allows you to activate your card by simply tapping on your smartphone.
